We have two young people who are working to make a difference in Christ on both coasts.
JESSICA SORVAAG is living and working in the
inner city of San Francisco with the homeless and those who live on the
streets. She is working through the InnerCHANGE Ministry in San Francisco, California. Keep up with her activities on her blog site- http://jesswithinnerchange.blogspot.com/
Mission:
InnerCHANGE is a Christian order composed of communities of missionaries living and ministering interrnationally among the poor.
InnerCHANGE
is a division of Church Resource Ministries and subscribes to CRM's
overall vision and sense of purpose. As CRM's apostolic order among the
poor, InnerCHANGE operates with singularity of focus unique to
ministering among the poor. This introduces a complimentary set of
values as well as a common practice of community critical to life and
service in a poor neighborhood.

Jessica's prayer requests for January 2010:
- For our team as we get two new interns for four months(January-April).
- God's leading in relationships on the street, and continual willingness and courage to obey his movement and Spirit in them.
- God's continual transformation of my own heart and that I would meet with Jesus in the deepest parts of life.
- For God's leading in the next year as I discern what the next season of life will look like and where it will be.
- For our dear friends who are trying to walk in obedience to God in the midst of a lot of darkness and temptation- strength, faith, and perseverance.
- That I would continue to trust in God's provision for me as I live among the streets of San Francisco.
LATIF KAMARA is serving for a year in
Philadelphia. He works and lives with a team in that city, reaching out
to people of that city, reaching out to people of the community in
practical ways, and building deep relationships centered on love and
compassion in Christ.
Mission Year is a year long urban ministry
program focused on Christian service and discipleship. We take teams of
people (18 and older), place them in an area of need, and help them to
serve people and create community. We are committed to the command of
Jesus to "love God and love people," by placing the needs of our
neighbors first and developing committed disciples of Christ with a
heart for the poor.
Mission:
As followers of Jesus, Mission Year Team Members work to advance the Kingdom of God by loving their neighbors.

"Dear Friends, I have some exciting news to share with you. I recently found out that all new gifts donated to me this month will be doubled up to $20,000! This truly is an exciting opportunity for me and my team as we continue to impact our city and be impacted by loving God and our neighbors in our community.
Would you please consider a special gift that will be doubled? This match is only for the next two weeks, so please give now! Whether $100 or $1,000 - your gift will have an amazing impact on my Mission Year.
Thank you for your support and encouragement!! " Click on the following link to give a donation to this worthy cause!
