March is Minnesota Food Share Month
2011 Collection:
During March (which was part of the lenten season) we gathered 3870 pounds of food. We gave $11,876 to the local food banks, New Life Center, Churches United for the Homeless, Dorothy Day House and the Emergency Food Pantry. These gifts are multiplied by Minnesota Food Share.
Campaign:
Minnesota Food Share is an interfaith collaboration, cosponsored by Jewish and Christian congregations, which greatly increases the amount of food available for distribution to persons and families in need. All monetary gifts and food items received will go to selected local agencies serving people in our community.
Hope Lutheran is participating by:
- Non-perishable food items may be brought to either campus at any time during the month of March. Grocery bags, containing a suggested list of needed items, will be available as a reminder to "raid the cupboard."
- Special offering envelopes will be placed in the bulletins in March for your convenience in making a monetary gift. Make checks payable to Hope Lutheran Church.
All contributions will be multiplied by Minnesota Food Share in March. This is a wonderful opportunity to see our gifts enlarged.
