Mike Toomey

Pastor Mike was raised in Fargo, North Dakota, where he was active at Hope Lutheran Church.  After graduating high school he attended North Dakota State University with the intention of pursuing a commission in the Air Force after graduation. God had other things in mind. During his studies in Fargo he also worked for Hope Lutheran as a custodian and sound technician. As he witnessed steady and impressive growth in the congregation he began to articulate his call to serve God and the world as an ordained pastor. Mike graduated from NDSU with a degree in Sociology with emphasis in Anthropology and a minor in Religious Studies.

After NDSU, Mike attended Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. Mike graduated from seminary in the spring of 2001 and began his first call at Trinity Lutheran of Enderlin and Anselm Trinity Lutheran. He enjoyed the challenges of rural ministry for over five years. He received a call back to Hope Lutheran Church, Fargo as an associate pastor in the spring of 2007.  His areas of responsibility in addition to preaching and visitation include, HopeCare, Men's Ministry and supervising Hope Lutheran's pastoral interns.

Mike's family includes his wife Maria, and two daughters, Katelynn and Elizabeth and his dog, Hubert, the Bane of Pheasants.
