Military Support - Operation Joshua Print E-mail

Be stong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

Operation Joshua is a ministry of HopeCare to honor and support our men and women on active military duty. It is a ministry to remember, encourage, support and pray for Hope Lutheran family members and friends who are on active duty.

We do this by posting a special bulletin board with photos and information on each military person. We regularly pray, individually and corporately, for each person identified on the bulletin board. We send these special people a letter to let them know we are praying for them and will also send cards and letters of encouragement. We actively encourage the Hope Lutheran family to become "Prayer/Pen Pals" with individual military persons. We also periodically send CARE packages to our friends on active duty.

Active military persons:

“Keep on praying” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Please pray for the safety of all our military personnel, and the support and comfort of their families.

Prayers for those in service:

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen."

Lord Jesus, Savior of the World and King of Peace, watch over our sons and daughters in the service of their country. Protect them from the physical and moral dangers of military life. Keep them close to you and help them live the Commandments.

Lord Jesus, give them courage to serve their country with honor and dignity. Be with them when they are in danger; strengthen them when they face hardships. Above all Lord, grant that when their service is finished they may return to us, sound in mind, body and soul. Amen.

Pray for physical safety of our soldiers and innocent victims of war.

Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze, for I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Isaiah 43:1-3

Pray for the loved ones of our soldiers, especially those who grieve.

The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face to you and give you peace. Numbers 6:24

Pray for the emotional protection/health of our soldiers and families.

Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7

Pray for the establishment of peace, and the success of each day's work.

May the favor of the Lord our God rest upon us; establish the work of our hands for us - yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17

Pray for spiritual growth for our soldiers and their families.

I pray that out of God's glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through the Holy Spirit in your inner being. Ephesians 3:16

HopeCare makes a difference:

“Hello from Iraq! I want to thank each and every one of you for the cards that you sent me while I am over here in Iraq. Thank you also for the package of gift items, I have used the blanket and very much appreciate the phone card, as well as all of the other items inside. (I especially liked the candy and beef jerky!) Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated and it’s always great to get mail. I look forward to when I return home and will be able to thank all of you in person.”

“To the people of HopeCare, Thank you very much for the box of goodies and the card you sent me on the USS Enterprise. That was very kind & thoughtful & it means a lot to know that you were praying for all of us. I am back home right now, spending time with my wife”
