Poverty. The message of poverty is that you don't matter. Nobody cares about you. You will never amount to anything. Compassion International seeks to break that cycle by reaching out to the little children before hopelessness sets in.Visiting Compassion Projects, you
are struck with the joy on the faces of the children. It is hard to
believe, but it is true. People who know God's love and have nothing of
this world's goods, often discover riches which we miss in our material
abundance.
Sponsorship not only helps the
child, but God has a blessing waiting for us the sponsor. The book
of James says the rich have joy because God has shown them that real riches are
not in "things" that parish.
Hope Lutheran has had an impact on
poverty of children in the world. Sponsorship is offered all year long,
but through Compassion Sundays alone, 331 children have been sponsored.
Compasion Sunday, this year, will be April 13th.
Through sponsorships of $32/month, children are offered education, health care, food, clothes, and most importantly...a chance to know that God loves them.
