Answers to Your Questions!
WHY ARE WE CONDUCTING A CAPITAL FUND APPEAL AT THIS TIME?
As we prepare for a new era of leadership and vision, both campuses
desperately need new and revitalized space to fulfill our growing mission,
particularly for youth and adult education. If we do not address these
key areas of need now, we will plateau and limitations will be placed on
our mission capacities.
HOW MUCH MONEY WILL THIS COST?
The cost of the plans that have been approved by our Church Council
and displayed in our welcoming areas is estimated at $4,000,000 – a
figure that includes a gift of $150,000 to help build the medical clinic in
the Central Republic of Africa.
WHY DID WE SELECT THE THEME – “BUILDING BRIDGES TO A LIVING HOPE?”
When Hope Lutheran was founded 50 years ago, 1 Peter 1:3 was
chosen as our commission… “In His great mercy He has given us a
new birth into a living hope.” As we enter into a new era of leadership
and vision, it seems appropriate to build a bridge that extends that
commission to lead us into the future.
WHY DID WE HIRE KAIROS AND ASSOCIATES?
Kairos is a consulting firm with proven experience in guiding many
churches in our region through successful capital fund appeals. They
understand us as a congregation and join us as partners in faith, committed
to developing a campaign that is focused on the vision and mission of
Hope Lutheran Church.
WHY ARE WE TAKING SO LONG TO CONDUCT A CAPITAL FUND APPEAL? WE KNOW THAT MORE SPACE IS NEEDED, WHY NOT JUST ASK FOR COMMITMENTS NOW?
Hope Lutheran Church has never raised $4,000,000 before, but we are
convinced that we do have the resources to do so. The question is, “do
we have the willingness?” That question can only be answered by the
people of Hope Lutheran. First, everyone needs to understand and
support the vision goals set by our leaders. Second, we need everyone
to work together to reach $4,000,000. This takes time to communicate
the vision and time to inspire people to new heights of generosity.
Responding habitually will not be adequate. Nor does habitual,
comfortable response follow Jesus’ words on generosity. Stewardship
is not a destination but a life-long journey that calls for growth, and at
times, sacrifice. Vision is not a goal, but the foundation of the future.
These two must come together in “Building Bridges.”

Moving Forward into God’s Future
Together we took a significant step into that future on March 25
when the people of Hope Lutheran voted, (with a 87% vote), to hire
Kairos and associates to conduct a capital campaign aimed at meeting
the financial needs of the building and renovation project presented by
the Building Task Force.
Many people are involved in "Building Bridges to a Living Hope".
The Spiritual Life Team would like to encourage all people of Hope Lutheran to write a short "Faith Prints" story to be used during the campaign.
Everyone’s involvement is critical to Hope Lutheran’s future.
